ABOUT OIKOS ST. GALLEN
oikos St.Gallen is the leading student-driven non-profit organization for sustainability in economics and management at the University of St. Gallen. Founded in 1987 the organization empowers student change agents worldwide to embed sustainability academia and from there into day-to-day business, government and personal activities. oikos St. Gallen consists of 80 student members who engage in nine projects. The board forms the strategic and operational lead committed to project development and realization of the mission of oikos St. Gallen. All members collaborate with a wide network of advisors, oikos alumni, partners, and the global community of oikos International.
oikos St. Gallen has the mission to transform economics and management education by empowering student change agents, raising awareness for sustainability opportunities and challenges, and building institutional support for curriculum reform. The inclusion of the mission in our organization is twofold. First, this includes the individual development of students to become aware of sustainability challenges. Second, this includes projects such as conferences, workshops, sustainability in the food and fashion industry, Curriculum Changes and Climate Action to allow discussions and new perspectives on the topic.
We respect each other and the ideas within the community. This ensures the development of new projects and allows students to become change agents for sustainable solutions.
We become aware of sustainability challenges and take responsibility for our future decisions and actions regarding the environment, society and economy.
We act transparently and collaborate with sustainable partners in all areas possible.
