The first team picture under the new name "oikos" in
1987
Founding of the öbu
- an organisation that aids some of the largest Swiss companies achieve the SDGs in 1989
Founding of the IWÖ - the Insitute for the Economy andEnviroment at the HSG. It was the first of its kind in Europe in 1992
Establishment of Model
WTO St. Gallen in 1997. Investing millions of CHF into research and many PhDs in sustainability from 1997-2011. (images show the oikos team in 1997)

the Un-Dress project was founded in 2012 to address the environmental and social impacts of the fast-fashion industry
Our first conference in 1971
Creation of the oikos
Advisory Board in 1987
Creation of the oikos Foundation in 1989
Founding of the oikos Alumni
Network in 1994. Many oikos alumni are nowadays in positions of power such as parliament and industry.
oikos Model WTO 1999, the third conference held. Providing a platform for students to engage with the complex issues of global trade.
Creating the oikos Fund in 2011.
Creation of Student Impact, the climate strategy of the HSG and the CO2 Taskforce from 2007-2015.
Spin-off of Model
WTO International in 2016 and oikos International in 2020.
