Welcome to Sustainability Week St. Gallen!

Our project consists of a week entirely dedicated to sustainability, in which we explore how to make better, more sustainable decisions as an individual. Our events range from insightful panel discussions or presentations with speakers to case study activities, and more. During these events, we dive into different topics like sustainable nutrition, greener travelling, and finance.

Vegan Brunch and Opening Event: Main Building (FOY 01-11) [04.03.24, 10.15 – 12.15] You enjoy eating good food and are interested in Sustainability? Now is your chance to come and discover vegan food from milk, pastries, and salty snacks… Koch-Workshop: Kochen innerhalb unserer planetarischen Grenzen: Restaurant Wilde Möhre [04.03.24, 16.00 - 20.00] Was bedeutet es, nachhaltig zu essen? In unserem Koch-Workshop kocht ihr gemeinsam mit Küchenchef Andreas Handke leckere und umweltfreundliche Gerichte. Andreas Handke ist ein Schweizer Pionier der nachhaltigen Küche. Gemeinsam werdet ihr nicht nur praktische Erfahrungen sammeln, sondern auch erforschen, wie ihr nachhaltiges Kochen in euren Alltag integrieren könnt... Die Veranstaltung wird mit einem gemeinsamen Abendessen abgeschlossen. Eine vorzeitige Anmeldung ist erforderlich, also sichere dir einen Platz!

Ganz-ohni Müll: Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen des abfallfreien Einkaufens in St.Gallen: Im Ganz-ohni Laden, St. Gallen [07.03.24, 11.00 – 12.00] Besucht uns im St. Galler Dorfladen und entdeckt Ganz-ohni vor und hinter dem Vorhang. Erfahrt mehr über die Geschäftsidee, das persönliche Leben der Verantwortlichen und die Hürden, die ein solches Geschäftsmodell mit sich bringt. Im Mittelpunkt steht unter anderem die Geschäftsführerin, die uns erklärt, wie sie damit umgeht, dass man nicht perfekt sein kann, wenn es um einen nachhaltigen Lebensstil geht. Movie Night: Breaking Boundaries - The Science of our Planet: Makerspace Building 07 [07.03.24, 19.00 – 20.30] Join us to watch a documentary/movie by Jonathan Clay. 1h14 to be immersed in one of our world's biggest challenges and how to react to its tragic consequences. It is an “Eye-Opener”, on the climate crisis. Incl. Popcorn


Climate Fresk Workshop *bilingual*: OST (1.209 Unterrichtsraum) [08.03.24, 9.15-12.15] The aim of "The Climate Fresk" is to bring climate knowledge to the people. The collaborative and interactive workshop breaks the scientific information collected by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) down and summarises it. As a team, participants put these cards in their order to see the systemic nature of climate change. In the second part of the workshop, we reflect together on what we have learned, exchange ideas and have a solution-oriented discussion. Save your spot, sign up is mandatory! Fitness and Sustainability: Workout session with plant-based body-builder Luca Pasquariello: HSG Sport Hall [08.03.24, 14.15-15.30] Sustainability is not only about the environment. It is also about ourselves... In this session, we will absolve a moderate whole-body workout (own weight training), so-called calisthenics. The session will be guided by the bodybuilder Luca Pasquariello. He will also share his insights and journey about his path of being a plant-based bodybuilder (/ influencer). the possibility to ask him any question. The session will end with a Q&A. Bring your sports gear and good energy! Important information: Meeting at 2 p.m in front of the sport hall and bring sports clothes and a water bottle. Join us and discover “AND YOU?
