After being a part of the oikos Conference team, Anna Kurth has been elected the new president of oikos St. Gallen in December 2020. To get to know her better, we asked her three questions on her role and the organization.

📇What influenced you to dedicate your time to oikos’ cause and become president?
I have always been fascinated by the magnitude of the challenge which climate change poses for our generation and those to come. As part of the conference team I was amazed and inspired by how much drive for action there is within our oikos community, and I want to contribute to this as much as possible!

📇What does oikos mean to you?
To me, oikos is a way to get involved – it is a platform to turn ideas into action, to work towards our shared goal: sustainability in economics and management, as well as its inclusion in our education. I am very proud to be a part of this likeminded community, where we can pool our resources and learn from, and inspire, each other.

📇What would you say to motivate those interested in joining the organization?
The challenge of climate change and the importance of sustainability are huge; and that can be daunting. I think it`s important to remember that we all have to start somewhere – curiosity is the first step, joining oikos can be the second!
