Get to know Olivier Widmer, Team Member of the oikos Evolve ! To get to know him better, we asked him four questions on his time with oikos.
1. What influenced you to dedicate your time to oikos’ cause?
My main motivation in joining the organization was to be empowered to have an actual impact on the world and make it a better place. As a large group, we are much stronger than as individuals and are enabled to make a much more significant impact on a business level. For this reason, organizations such as oikos are of absolutely vital importance.
2. What does oikos mean to you?
Oikos gives me the opportunity to put my knowledge of finance to practice and to use it in view of raising sustainability awareness among businesses. This way, I am taking action for a cause that is very meaningful to me and by doing so I am gaining an enriching professional experience within an amazing community.
3. What would you say to motivate those interested in joining the organization?
oikos represents an amazing opportunity for you to gain a (first) work experience alongside your studies and to use your knowledge in commitment to an extremely important cause. What’s more, you will be within the framework of a strong community of amazing, motivating, committed and open-minded people.
4. What do you do besides oikos?
Along my job at oikos, I am a Business Administration major on Bachelor level at the University of St.Gallen. In the free time I have left, I love to go skiing, travelling, hanging out with friends, photography and playing the piano.
